From College Corridors to Kashmir Peaks: Our Unforgettable Adventure

Some trips stay with you forever, and our recent college trip to Kashmir is definitely one of those. It was a crazy mix of excitement, unexpected challenges, and pure magic. It all started with 30 of us friends—just students, no teachers—full of energy and eager to explore. Our first stop was Delhi. The city’s buzz matched how excited we felt. We visited famous spots, enjoyed some tasty street food, and of course, couldn’t resist doing a bit of shopping. It was the perfect way to kick off the journey ahead. Then came the ride on the Vande Bharat Express to Jammu Tawi—a comfortable and fast train that had us all thrilled and ready for the mountains. Once we arrived in Jammu, our trip package took over, so we could just relax and soak in the experience without any stress. After settling into our rooms, we set out on day one to Doodhpathri, a beautiful village surrounded by green meadows. Riding horses through that peaceful landscape felt like a dream, and we were all completely captivated by the serenity around us. Day two was all about exploring Srinagar—taking in the sights, the culture, and the amazing atmosphere. But the best was yet to come. On the third day, we headed to Sonmarg to witness snowfall for the very first time. Experiencing snow was magical—laughter and joy filled the air as phones tried, and failed, to capture the wonder we felt. Things then took an unexpected turn. On the way back, heavy snowfall blocked the roads, and we found ourselves stuck on the bus for nearly 45 hours, with limited food and water. It was tough, but heartwarming locals came by with tea and biscuits, reminding us of the kindness that shines even in difficult times. Eventually, we made it safely back, feeling stronger and ready for whatever came next. The journey home brought its own adventure. We missed our train to Delhi and lost about ₹45,000 in tickets. That night, we huddled together at a cold railway station, sharing warmth and stories.
